Mustang SSP 10-7FR

1989 Ford Mustang SSP

This is THE one and only marked Mustang GT that Massachusetts has ever used.  This Mustang was not owned by the MSP until 1993, as this was a drug confiscated vehicle.  As the story goes, this vehicle only had a two day service life as a marked vehicle.  I'm not exactly sure what it was used for those two days (rumor is that a state trooper wanted to enjoy it a bit), but after that, it was turned into a public relations car.  It was recently discovered that this car was equipped with a removable Falcon radar gun (plugs into the cigarette lighter).  In one of the interior photos, it can be seen sitting behind the driver's seat.  During life with the MSP, it was stored more than it was actually used, as it was reported that this Mustang sat in storage for somewhere between 13-15 years.  While in storage, some parts were randomly taken off of this car by at least one trooper.  This is why you'll find two different "looks" of this car.
