HISTORY
MSPrestorations.com is an online showcase of my collection of retired Massachusetts State Police (MSP) vehicles. I, Joe, started accumulating MSP vehicles in 2008. My first MSP car was unit 2702, one of just five Special Service Package (SSP) Mustangs that were ordered (in 1988). For those of you who are unfamiliar with the SSP Mustang hobby, to say the least, it's an addiction. Once you own one, you need another... and another... and another. This was my second SSP Mustang to be a mate to my 1990 Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol SSP Mustang. Just two years later, I found myself purchasing two more SSP's (1986 and 1988 Florida Highway Patrol). When I had an opportunity to purchase my 1996 MSP Ford Bronco, I sold my Texas SSP Mustang. After getting the Bronco, I knew I had to find a way to own MSP 1451, their one and only marked Mustang. Several years went buy, but eventually the new owner of 1451 sold the vehicle in the condition it was auctioned in plus a burnt front end from where it sat in storage and suffering fire damage during their ownership. So now that I'm undertaking two large MSP projects (1451 and 2702), I have decided to sell off a lot of other project cars I had.
UPDATE: On January 8, 2020, I made the tough decision to sell off one of my MSP projects. With the addition of the LTD to the collection, I realized I can't enjoy them all. To help prepare for other possibilities in our future (no, not another car), after a few months of convincing myself I needed to do this, I let Mass State Police 2702 (Mustang SSP) go to a good home. It is with great pleasure and emotion that I announce that MSP 2702 was officially dropped off sold to the Mustang Museum of America in Odenville, AL. I am certain that they will take care of it and give it the attention it deserves. Most importantly, everyone who walks in the museum will be able to enjoy seeing it in addition to over 100 other Mustangs, many of which also have in-service police history (about 35 other Mustang SSP's).
