HISTORY
MSPrestorations.com is an online showcase of my collection of retired Massachusetts State Police (MSP) vehicles. I, Joe, started accumulating MSP vehicles in 2008. Why? I unexpectedly got involved in the police car hobby when I purchased an unrestored 1990 Texas DPS Highway Patrol Mustang SSP right out of college. Once you own one, you need another... and another... and another. Later that year, I had the opportunity to purchase MSP unit 2702, one of just five Special Service Package (SSP) Mustangs that were ordered (in 1988). Why Massachusetts? Well, not only was I born there, but I think that their signature "French and Electric Blue" paint scheme on their vehicles is one of the most unique out there. I ended up selling my 1990 Texas DPS SSP to purchase my MSP Bronco unit 1644. I just had to have this Bronco since it brought back memories of my father's Bronco that he had to sell, while fitting in nicely to my new police car collection. Since then, I got to add my unicorn, unit 1451, which is something I never thought I'd be able to own. Most recently, I added a MSP Expedition and MSP Excursion to the mix to drive. I think I'm very pleased with the collection that I have right now, but I wouldn't mind adding an old and/or newer Crown Victoria to the mix. Although I'm more about preserving these vehicles in original form, there will be a day that comes when I restore them. They are only original once, so I want to make sure that I have time to enjoy them both ways, restored and unrestored.
